Missing Krismar

This morning when I went online to check my mails, my cousin left me message that she has a visitor my niece Krismar from Davao. I replied to her message and 10 year niece Krismar said “hi myh it’s me kikis”. I’m glad to chat with her and saw her on the web cam. She is pretty and still has her curly hair. Her typing is slow so I have to wait for her reply. I miss her especially she was making faces on the web cam. I tried to call thru yahoo but my cousin’s microphone doesn’t work. I ask how are her other siblings doing back in Davao and glad that they are all Ok especially his Kuya Niño who just had Hypokalemia (Potassium Deficiency). She is enjoying her short stay in Cebu my cousin will bring her to their company’s sports festival and will also attend a kid’s birthday party tomorrow. They will fly back to Davao on Monday, May 19, 2008.

I miss you Krismar. Hope to see you again.

Potassium Deficiency (Hypokalemia)

My nephew was diagnosed with Potassium Deficiency (Hypokalemia) last Monday, May 5, 2008. His potassium level was so low that he just collapsed while playing basketball after coming from his hospital duty. His friends had to lift him back to his house. The doctor said he is lucky to make it one time before any cardiac arrest happened. The incident happened during the day but had to wait for his parents to be home for they were out of town. They had to rush him to Davao Doctors Hospital. When I talked to my sister she said she was so nervous and sad upon seeing his son that only his head can moved and was crying for help. He was paralyzed for two days nothing can move. It started from his feet up to his legs, arms and fingers. When they were at the hospital his blood pressure even went to 160/100 too high for a 21 year old. Glad that they are out of the hospital now and he is back to normal but was advised by the doctor to stop playing basketball and to take enough rest.

Lord we thank you for saving Niño and for giving him another chance to live. Thank you also to all the doctors that have helped him and to his siblings Em em, Shemar and Krismar who were there and never left him while waiting for their parents.

I also talked to him on the phone and he was crying saying the incident was so scary thought he will die. I told him to take care of his health and to eat foods that are high in potassium like bananas, oranges.

Fish and Chips

I missed eating fried foods. Today for dinner I have made up my mind to have fish and chips. Before going to get some groceries I thawed the tilapia fillet. The fillets were already thawed when we came back. The beer batter dip added flavor to the tilapia fillet, I coated them before loading to the deep fryer. It came out yummy and crunchy but some of it stick to the basket of the fryer, I don’t know why.

The second round for frying was the fries. It didn’t take so long only about three minutes and dinner was ready to be served. For dessert I bake bread crumbs with honey and butter; and top it with fruit cocktail with cream and chill.

Though fried foods is not good for the health but once in a while is OK. I miss eating the fresh fish from the ocean. Back home I don’t eat tilapia it’s only when I arrived here in Canada that I have tried it.

We had a yummy dinner and now its time to clean up the kitchen.

Papa's Fifth Death Anniversary (28th April '08)

There are no good-byes, where ever you are, you'll always be in our hearts.

It was Monday, April 28, 2003 at 9:30 p.m. when our Papa was called by the Almighty Father to join with him in his paradise. It was difficult for us, his kids, to see him go forever but seeing him suffer so much is very hard to bear. It has been five years that I haven't seen him but the memories that he has left is still fresh in my mind. I know Papa is now in a happy place where there is no more pain.

Papa is now our angel, he maybe far from us but I know he is always watching over us. He would have been very happy and proud seeing how his kids and grand kids have gone so far.

Papa Romy, we MISS and LOVE YOU so much. Till we meet again.

Isn't She Adorable?

Isn't she adorable? Her name is Keishi. She is the daughter of my nephew and my grand daughter, omg this shows I'm not getting any younger. She was going 2 years old when I first met her in May 2007. When i saw her at the airport when they pick me up i can really picture my nephew in her. I told my sister she is the female version of her dad. She was very quiet and observant and was looking confused when she saw me, probably for she doesn't know me. I was happy to see her, she is an angel. That was her reaction at the airport shown on the picture on the left with my cousins.

While we were at home she started to show her abilities. She can dance to "Wowowee's Adododo, Adahdah" she is really cute. In the picture that is her "Korean" smile. I remember she always ask for "nanah" for her it means food. She drinks a lot of milk too. Everybody loves her so much especially that she is the only baby in the family. She has grown a lot already, the last time i talk with her on phone, omg, she sounded like an adult. I was really laughing talking to her.

I miss you baby Keishi. Be a good girl always. Hope to see you again.

Happy Anniversary!

Belated Happy 43rd Wedding Anniversary to My Beloved Parents.

January 26, 2008 is my parents 43rd Wedding Anniversary. It would have been nice if my Papa is still around then they can both celebrate it together. My Papa passed away 4 years ago. They never had the chance to renew their marriage vows again. I don't know if they want too, lol.

I'm not sure if Mama prepare something for that day probably not. She is also sick these days still on her dialysis. I forgot to call also and greet for I was working.

Happy Anniversary Folks!

Little Favors & Everlasting Love

Early today we had to do a lot of back and forth trip to two of my husband's aunt. Its doing a little charity work for the oldies. We take Aunt Charlene to see her husband who is now living in the nursing home. She doesn't drive anymore due to old age. They don't see each other often it depends if someone can drive her to see him.

On our way to the facility from a distance her husband already see her and he is waiving his hand and with a very big smile on his face. I am amaze to see that their love for each other didn't fade at all its still genuine even though they are both old. She give him a lip kiss and a tight hug. Todd and I are just behind them as she pushes his wheelchair to his room. I find the place so depressing seeing other seniors sitting on their wheelchair; one lady is keep on talking to herself saying "Mama help me" and another one was holding a book as if she is reading but is calling for a nurse to help her. Its like they are just waiting for their time to be with our Creator. I said to Todd if i reach at this stage I don't want to stay in this place if I have the choice.

Inside his room he is digging something in his drawer, I wonder what is he looking for, it was a picture of them together. He showed it to her and said "Can you remember this? It pains my heart to see him crying asking her how is she doing and telling her he wants to go home, its like they are comforting each other, I think that's how it goes if you don't have kids; living together for 50 years is hard to be separated from each other. They have been married now for 55 years.

Its time for us to leave, Todd pushes his wheelchair outside of his room to the elevator. They bid their goodbyes and kiss each other. Its so nice to see their love still burning.
