When It Rain It Pours

It has been awhile I have not made any posting to my blog. I am glad to be back. I have been very occupied for the past month. A lot of stress have come along the way. At the start of March my sister who is 4 months pregnant phoned me that her laboratory results were alarming. She is positive for Trisomy 18 known as "Edwards Syndrome" which made the whole family worried. Her doctor advised she will still deliver the baby but the baby will die after few hours. I told her if it is meant for you than God will grant it, if not then you have to let go. It was a bad news but we never loose hope and our faith to God. We offered prayers asking for God's help to change the diagnosis. Her doctor advised to go 4d ultrasound,to see if the baby physical appearance is normal or a needle will be injected to her placenta to get a fluid to determine the baby condition. She opted to have the 4d or level 2 ultrasound for the needle work is risky of having a miscarriage. When the ultrasound was performed everything was very normal the baby she has in her womb is 8oz and all the physical features are normal. Thanks God her baby is normal and the laboratory work indicating as positive was just a possibility. Thanks God for hearing our prayers. There is nothing impossible in prayers if you have faith.

My eldest sister went for a visit to Cebu to be with my other sister. Instead of enjoying her stay trying to be away from all the stress in life. She got a phone call that her eldest son needs to be hospitalize due to potassium deficiency. That was his second attack the first one was more serious. He was hospitalized for 3 days and was able to recover. Praise God for your goodness. Hope he will be careful and will take care of himself.


With the economic down turn, Todd's job has been affected especially working for an automotive industry. Job security is no longer guaranteed which add more stress to him not knowing whether his company will stay open or not. He was laid off for a week and good thing he was back to work after a week. It is still up in the air but at least he is still working. Another blessing to be thankful.


March 18 was my Mama's birthday. She should have turned 70 this year but she didn't make it. My sister had a little celebration back in the Philippines honoring her birthday even though she is no longer around. I miss greeting her on the phone and sending a birthday card, she is no longer there. Life must go on without her for Mama won't be happy to see us her children sad.

My work has been stressing my as well. It has been very hard letting people to pay their debts especially with the recession that has been going on. A lot of them have lost their jobs and can no longer afford to pay their obligations. I know I can care less for them for I don't know them but I still have my emotions for them. Hope things will be better soon.

We were planning to go away during the Holy Week to visit my sister's family in South Carolina but we just made it earlier in time that he was laid off from work. We did have good trip stayed at my sister's place for the few nights and headed to Mrytle Beach to camp at Ocean Lake Resort. It was a nice time to unwind after all of the spice of life.

God is good all the time. Thank you Lord.

There is no storm that passes in our lives that we can't tackle if we just keep our FAITH in God and He won't leave us alone.

Philippine Goods

Last Saturday Todd took me to Yuan Ming Supermarket in Missaguaga about an hour drive from home. I heard it from my friend that the Asian store is huge and their prices are cheap. It was my first time to be there and oh boy I was really surprise and happy to be there. I shopped alot of goods from back home. I had fresh fish, shrimps w/ head, fresh squid and a milkfish. I also bought some squid rings for calamare. There were lots of goodies from home from chippy, cheese curls, oishi, nagaraya, boy bowang, mix nuts and so much more. I bought a lot of junk foods. I had some frozen "bulinao" small fish. I had ampalaya which I cook it last Sunday with bag-ong (sauted shrimp) and fried fish. It was a very yummy dinner.

Todd likes siopao so we bought some too. They have a restaurant also with Chinese and Filipino cuisine. You can also buy lechon by pounds. They have a bakery section also I just love their raisin and coconut bread taste like the bread at home.

It will still be awhile before we can go back there. Todd told me to buy a lot like a month supply. I told my friend that I went there and told her that I did enjoy my shopping wish I could buy them all, lol.

A Trip To South Carolina

Every year Todd and I goes for a vacation. It is our way of treating ourselves for working hard through the year. We take our dogs with us so it is always a land trip for they can't be on the plane. Last year we went to Tennessee to spend Christmas with my sister’s family. We were just using the map we got from travel insurance company.

This coming April 9-15 we are going to South Carolina to visit my other sister and spend Easter with them. It would be very nice to have a Garmin NUVI 260 Portable GPS that will make our travel hassle free. I am glad I found cheap deals at http://www.shopwiki.com/ for the GPS we have been eyeing to buy for future trips. This is a perfect gift for Todd on his birthday before we go away.

Since it will be a very long trip I need to entertain myself while traveling. I need a Portable DVD Player so that I can watch movies on the road. I would also need a new Luggage Set that is light weight and spacious for our clothes and other travel needs.

Hope we will enjoy our coming trip to South Carolina where the weather is warm.

Pimples

Anyone having pimples? It has been awhile I didn't have any pimples on my face. I just notice I have one on my leftside of my forehead and another one on my left chin. They just both started to swell and they are painful too. I guess nobody wants to have pimples. I might be stress or it is part of my PMS.


My sister gave my Pro Active and I always use them everytime I get a pimple. Pro Active is really effective for me. Once I put the Pro Active repairing lotion the pimple doesn't even have the chance to grow.

Hope these pimples heal soon.

Weekend House Cleaning

Last weekend I was busy cleaning the house. It has been a while I haven't done general cleaning. I vaccum the carpets almost every week but lately have not made my dusting of the walls and the furnitures. It took most of my day last Saturday. It was a through general cleaning from the living room to the kitchen and all the bathrooms.

I re-decorated the house too. My late mother-in-law had lots of collections of teddy bears which were just placed in basement. I brought them in the living room just for a change of scene in the house. Since I came here the kitchen has never been change it still has motif of teddy bears. I know it doesn't sound right but I kept it same as it is for her memory.


I had to spray the floor to keep it shinny. It is just very nice to stay in a clean and clutter free house.

I can't wait for Spring to come so that I can clean rake my garden. It is still too cold to do some work outside.

Family Day w/ Friends

Today is the family day holiday here in Canada but it was not applicable to all workers. I invited my friends to come over for dinner. I prepared dinugguan, breaded shrimp, calamare, pancit palabok and grilled milkfish. I made some bucayo(sweetened young coconut strips) and my friend brought a blueberry cheesecake.


We had a sumptous dinner. I am happy that they all like the food that I cook. It is nice to eat Filipino dishes. I like to cook but I don't feel like eating after when I am alone. It was nice to be with company around.

System Error

When I arrived to work today I was surprise most of the representatives were just outside of the production floor. It was because we had some issues with our systems. Some were able to take calls and continue with the work and others were not. When I log in to my computer there I find out that my system was also down. I was just waiting for it to come back on. After 3 hours it did come back but not for everybody and I was one of them. I don't know what was the error. I felt so bored waiting and waiting for it to came back so that I can work. Around ten to six I ask my supervisor what will I do, they just said to wait. I feel bad for most of them were already busy taking calls and there I am just sitting pretty doing nothing. I approached her again around seven o'clock and she told me that I can either stay or go home it won't go against my attendance. I just decided to go home and enjoy my evening. It would have been nice to stay and get paid without doing anything but I am also bothered by my conscience. Anyway, the rest of us that the system didn't work were also sent home.I got home early tonight, I will just make up my hours tomorrow. Hopefully everything will be back to business.
